A MESSAGE FROM OUR CEO

"Advance Baton Rouge Charter School Association is built on three principles that we believe drive schools to becoming excellent institutions of learning: leadership, autonomy, and best practice. These manifest in the following ways in the schools we serve:

• We believe strong leaders build strong schools. As a charter school management organization, ABR strives to identify, hire, and support strong leaders as they serve the students in their care.

• We believe that decisions are best made when they are made close to the children, families, and community being served. ABR’s role is to guide, assist, and support our schools in this decision making process so that so that they can excel under their own leadership.

• We believe that best practice means that teachers are supported so that they can meet the needs of the students they serve; are provided the professional development they request so that they can improve their skills; are compensated for the academic growth that they manifest in their classrooms; and have the opportunity to grow as teachers without having to leave the classroom. ABR accomplishes this through the implementation of the school reform model TAP: The System for Teacher and Student Advancement.

As CEO of ABR, I encourage everyone in the organization to strive to reach every child we teach; capitalize on every chance we have to do so; and to do this consistently every day. We mean it when we say: Every child, Every chance, Every day."
