The Exceptional Student Services Department of Advance Baton Rouge assures a free, appropriate, public education is available to all exceptional students enrolled in our schools. Policies and procedures have been developed based on Louisiana Department of Education regulations and bulletins. The Director of Exceptional Student Services is responsible for the general supervision of the identification, evaluation activities/services for students who are suspected of being exceptional and for the provision of a Free Appropriate Public Education to students with disabilities. Additionally, students identified as being Gifted and/or Talented will receive an educational program suited to their unique needs.
